1: What do you like about big buddies?

I like how the kids know me and they don't run away from me.

2: Why did you choose to be a big buddy? Because I like little kids and I wanted to be one because it was new.

3. What is the hardest thing about being a big buddy?  

You have to go to their class a lot and they go crazy when they have been inside a lot.

4: When you were a year 5, did you want to be a big buddy? And why?  

Because it was cool and it looked fun.

5: How did you feel when it was your first time being a big buddy?

The kids didn't talk to me so I felt like I didn't know what to do.

What do you really like?

I love to get to know the juniors and I find them very funny!

NZ Book Awards - Middle Syndicate Trip

On Monday 55 of our middle syndicate students, along with some staff and parents, were fortunate enough to go into town and meet some of the authors who were nominated for New Zealand Book Awards.  We heard about how they came to be authors and write their books, how they came up with their ideas and about the process of writing.  We also got to ask some of them some questions and have books or bookmarks signed.  We were very inspired and we are looking forward to becoming published authors ourselves!

We have loved our moveMprove sessions this term so far! Have a look at all the fun stuff we got to try out. 

We really like practising our balancing, playing games with Jess and sliding on the scooter boards. 

We found spinning the hoop around our arm and swinging on the bar a bit tricky, but we are working hard on building confidence and persevering with practising. 👍

We are so proud of the Year 5/6 miniball team that played extremely well today, only missing out on a win by one goal.  This is a new team that displayed great sportsmanship and had lots of fun playing a game they enjoy.  Well done, boys!
